The Finishing of the steel is an area of manufacture that we haven’t incorporated into our onsite works. We think this is an area best left to the experts, we have spent decades forming strong partnerships with a small selection of companies that specialise in industrial painting and Galvanising.
Material is loaded into a bath of molten zinc at a temperature of around 450 degrees. Once the material reaches the same temperature, it is removed from the bath of molten zinc.
During this process, the molten zinc reacts with the surface of the steel to form a series of zinc/iron alloys. As work is removed, the zinc on its surface will begin to solidify and, as this happens, excess zinc is removed to ensure a smooth finish. Work is then usually transferred to a quench tank, where it is cooled to allow for handling.
