Investing in The Future: The Fussey Apprenticeship Programme Continues to Be A Great Success

You may have seen in the press it was recently National Apprenticeship Week.

It’s great to see such initiatives being promoted nationally as it does a lot to help raise awareness.

But the fact is:

Here at Fussey, we don’t just celebrate apprenticeships on a weekly basis…

We’ve been championing apprenticeships for years.

In fact, many of the team here at Fussey started out as apprentices and we are always looking to invest in the future of our company by bringing on new apprentices.

Though we don’t have any actively open positions at this very moment, it’s always worth thinking about us first if you’re looking for an apprentice position in the industry.

The Current Crew

Right now, we have five apprentices working with us here at our North Killingholme base.

Abbie Bloomfield has just completed her Level 2 Business qualification, whereas Jack Davies, Liam Richardson, Owen Sanderson and Cameron Chapman are all at different stages of their Fabrication and Welding apprenticeships.

Jack has already been with us for four years, while Cameron is just starting out in his first year. Owen and Liam are in their second and third years, respectively.

Working with us here at Fussey, all of our apprentices are able to get valuable, real-life engineering experience…

And at the same time, our existing engineers are able to help them in their study towards the qualifications that will set them up for a successful career in the industry.

We’re pleased to say they’re all doing well and are already considered part of the Fussey team.

We aim to take on at least one new apprentice each year as people move through the process and become full time members of staff.

The scheme is working extremely well for us and we’re happy that in almost all cases, our apprentices stay with us here at Fussey and continue to work as valuable members of the team.

As we say, right now we’re not actively seeking new apprentices, but that doesn’t mean where not always open to talking to talented people who have a desire to work in engineering.
